• Tomtomeyes is a synthesis of the work I developed with Percussionist Maurizio Ben Omar and to him this music is dedicate. The work is based on the historical technique of the Basler Trommel focusing on traditional formulas used to memorize and perform the sticking “rudiments”. But more, here we listen to the musician in a virtuoso performance on both sticks and voice.

In Tomtomeyes I merged different experiences: some of my previous percussion pieces as ZONE I or SanMokuSenGan, a long staying in Japan, the work with my group ZONE and, as a suggestion, the audible representation of an imaginary journey of "the beating eye" of a TomTom.
Through the Video, one could feel the gliding water's fascination and the illusory act of writing: we always write on water with an illusive intention to leave an eternal sign. In this VideoTrack time is running and leaving his signs: leaves, twigs, grass, fishes, rain. In the meantime the TomTom revolves itself in a whole deep Cadenza. m.p.
